Job Summary

Artmire’s Urban Forestry and Tree Services, a family-owned business is seeking a Certified Arborist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for tree cultivation and a deep understanding of arboriculture. As a Certified Arborist, you will be instrumental in driving sales, profitability, and growth in the community. This role also involves conducting risk assessments, analyzing possible disease and pest infestation, and developing comprehensive tree care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively prospect new clients and maintain client relationships.
  • Conduct in-person consultations, offering proposals for tree and plant health care services.

  • Collaborate with the General Manager to set and achieve sales goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the tree care industry.
  • ISA Certified Arborist Certification is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of tree and plant care standards and best practices.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and treating complex tree problems.
  • Basic understanding of business financials and math skills.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Groundsman

Tyler, TX        Full-Time            Experienced

 

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Tree Groundsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our arborists and ensuring the smooth execution of tree care services. This position involves a variety of tasks including cutting, chipping, loading logs and debris, and maintaining a safe work environment. The Groundsman will also be responsible for equipment maintenance and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in cutting, chipping, and loading logs, brush, and limbs.
  • Operate tools and machinery like chainsaws, chippers, handsaws, pole saws, and other equipment safely.
  • Provide support to tree climbers by controlling lowering ropes and ensuring safe operations.
  • Ensure thorough job site cleanup after completion of tree care tasks.
  • Supply and manage tools and equipment for tree workers on site.
  • Work collaboratively with the crew to complete tree care and landscaping jobs efficiently.
  • Drive trucks and manage trailers as required.
  • Assist with routine maintenance of equipment and tools.
  • Strictly adhere to company safety standards, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL highly desirable.
  • Professional appearance and a strong work ethic.
  • Reliable, honest, and able to consistently report to work on time.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Prior experience in Forestry, Arboriculture, or Landscape is preferred but not essential.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Capable of reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive movements throughout the day.

  • Lead and supervise a pruning crew, ensuring efficient and quality completion of projects.
  • Manage and prepare equipment, ensuring proper maintenance, loading, and fueling.
  • Conduct job briefings, participate in safety protocol adherence, and assist in work zone setup.
  • Perform tree risk and job site assessments, engage with clients regarding services, and conduct service-related walk-throughs.
  • Ensure effective communication within the team and participate in post-job cleanup activities.

Requirements

  • Positive team player with a professional attitude.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A or B with airbrake endorsement preferred.
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years.
  • At least one year of experience in rope and saddle climbing.
  • Familiarity with tree pruning and removal techniques.
  • Ability to work at heights and in varied outdoor conditions.
  • Physical fitness to perform demanding outdoor tasks and lift over 50lbs.
  • Preferential consideration is given to candidates with bucket or claw truck operation experience and cabling and bracing skills.
